On 4th May 2023 Local Government elections will be taking place. The Government has recently brought in a requirement that will take effect as from this election that to be able to vote individuals will need to provide photo ID. If you cannot provide the required ID then you will not be permitted to vote. Do make sure you have the relevant information when you go to the polling station so you do not loose your democratic right to vote!
What ID do I need?
The following forms of photo ID will be considered acceptable –
A passport issue by the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, a British Overseas territory, an EEA state of Commonwealth Country.
A Driving licence issued by the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or an EEA state

An older person’s bus pass
A Disabled person’s bus pass
An Oyster 60+ card
A biometric immigration document
An identity card bearing the proof of age standards scheme hologram
And MOD form 90 ID card
What if I do not have any of the above ID?
